Commissioning a custom piece

Commissioning custom furniture is a collaborative process — one that begins with a conversation and evolves into a unique, handcrafted work of art tailored to your needs.

It is also a process that requires trust. It is important to me that you are completely comfortable throughout the process. I will do my best to fully understand your ideas and needs and I will check in regularly and keep you updated throughout the build.

Whether you envision a slight variation on an existing piece or a completely new design, I welcome the opportunity to bring your ideas to life.

Please feel free to contact me.

First step

Most projects start with an email outlining your vision. You may already have reference images, dimensions, or a specific space in mind; any details you can share will help shape the direction of the piece. From there, we will start to define the aesthetics, function, and scope of the piece.

Some commissions are straightforward — adjusting the size or wood species of an existing design — while others are more involved, requiring new concepts and custom design
work from the ground up.
Together, we will decide on the right approach.

Pricing and quote

Once the broad parameters are established, I will provide a proposal outlining the piece, a quote and a simple contract. Upon approval and deposit, I will create 3D models or sketches to further refine the design, as needed.

Each piece I make is one of a kind, built with careful attention to craftsmanship, materials, and longevity. Prices vary based on complexity, size, materials, and design labor.

If you are considering a custom piece, the best place to start is by reaching out via email. Tell me a bit about what you are looking for, your space, and your budget, and we will take it from there.

The initial process is completely free of charge and no quotes are binding until you have explicitly agreed to my proposal.

The build process

Throughout the build, I will provide updates, and at key stages I may invite you to review progress, especially when fine design details require your input.

The process often involves small adjustments along the way. That is completely natural and ultimately this ensures that the final piece reflects your vision down to the last detail.

Pick-up, delivery or shipping

You are welcome to pick-up your piece of furniture at my workshop in Søborg, Copenhagen. However if you are unable to, I would also be happy to arrange delivery or shipping.

I deliver furniture throughout Denmark and can arrange shipping to most countries.

International shipping follows the internationally established standards within the industry, which entails shipping pieces in strong plywood crates arranged on pallets using courriers that are experienced in handling such shipments.

Get in touch to discuss the options and we will find a shipping solution that works for you.
